Drag Hose System: Mark's a Busy Bloke - No Time to Chat!

Like most farmers, Mark Walker is a busy bloke with no time to chat!

He's up at the crack of dawn, with his sidekick Paul, to start work on his 220ha dairy farm in Gore, with 475 cows to feed and milk.

After adding a large feedpad, and new effluent pond to the farm, they needed a faster method of spreading effluent. Mark had previously seen Nevada's Drag Hose Rainwave™ System at the Northland Field Days, and thought it would be a good fit for his farm.  So he gave Nevada a call.

  • 'It looked like a system that'd be easy to implement on the farm, and would let us spread over a wide range in a short amount of time - which is exactly what we need.'

The weather conditions in Gore are not always great for spreading, and with a lot on their plates, Mark and Paul really needed something that would make the best use of short windows of time.  The drag hose system with Rainwave spreader sounded ideal, so they went ahead and haven't looked back!

  • 'It took a little while to get the hang of it from what we were used to, but now we've got it, it's great!'
