Slurry Tanker: Martin Contracting Have Expanded Their Services!

The Martin family own and operate a successful and quickly expanding agricultural business in Northland - Martin Contracting. Run by brothers Brad and Andrew, and their uncle Glen, they offer a large range of services including stack silage, baling, under sowing, re-grassing and solid fertiliser spreading. Brad saw the opportunity to add slurry spreading to the mix, and now with their Nevada 10,000L slurry tanker, they offer that too!

The Martin family are well aware of the needs of farmers. The family have their own farming operation where they had been using contractors. Having experienced the need for agricultural contractors first hand, they saw an opportunity and decided to start their own contracting business.

  • ‘There’s a lot of demand for ag contractors in Northland, so when the opportunity came up to start our own business, we jumped at it.’

Offering such a wide range of services, the team at Martin Contracting are in high demand and always on the go. Brad says one of the keys to their success is in being reliable.

  • ‘Farmers rely on our services to keep their farms operating, and part of getting repeat business is being reliable. We show up when we say we will, and we work hard to get the job done.’

As the business has grown, so too have their services. With the recent edition of a Nevada MB100-4R 10,000L Slurry Tanker, they’ve now added slurry spreading and cleanouts to the mix.

  • ‘We were getting a lot of enquiries about emptying bunkers of slatted floor barns as well as ponds and sumps, so a slurry tanker looked like the best option to be able to offer that service. We always look to invest in equipment that will be reliable, long lasting, and get the job done. We liked that the Nevada slurry tanker is fully galvanised, simple for any staff to use, and the auto-fill makes it efficient. The price was good too!’
