Richard and Sally-Ann Riddell decided to purchase a Nevada slurry tanker as part of their effluent system upgrade.
When they installed a new feedpad, they needed more storage and a better way of spreading effluent. The new system includes a green-water floodwash, a drive-in stone trap and a three million litre lined pond.
Effluent passes through the stone trap where most of the solids are strained out. Richard then uses his Nevada Slurry Tanker to clean the stone trap. It is a simple one-person operation and eliminates the need for a solids storage bunker.
The old irrigation pump is fitted to a Nevada Pondboom for safe, easy operation and maintenance. This sends water to the green-water wash system.
Richard has found the Nevada MB1204R even better than he thought. It doesn’t really damage paddocks and he estimates it has saved him thousands of dollars in fertilisers.
When asked if he would recommend Nevada slurry tankers toother farmers, Richard responded:
